ORIGINAL FORMATS
Three distinct formats. Same obsession: go deeper than the headline.
THE TRIAL
A case file. An indictment. A verdict. Sports journalism as courtroom drama.
UNTOUCHABLES
The athletes everyone got wrong. Our verdicts, backed by the data.
DYNASTIES
The business dynasties shaping sports. Power, money, and legacy, as a podcast.
THE MANIFESTO
SPORTS DESERVE BETTER THAN THIS.
Sports deserve better than the current background noise. Between the empty controversies manufactured for the algorithm, the misinformation, and the disposable content, the rule has become: shout louder than everyone else, and never actually analyse anything.
The Take was built to destroy that saturation. Our mission is to combine the surgical rigour and data obsession of a newsroom like The Athletic, with the humour, the camaraderie, and the trash-talk that define web culture. We choose to be demanding, while categorically refusing to take ourselves seriously. We will never pull our punches.
This media is not a conglomerate's toy. It was built radically independently, with wit, a lot of elbow grease, and the support of the first circle. That structural independence is our most lethal weapon. It lets us stand by our verdicts, never chase the click, and protect your inboxes and phones from advertising.
We write for you, not for the algorithm.
